My Diverticulitis Story
In 2022, I was diagnosed with diverticulitis, a condition I knew almost nothing about at the time. At that time I was a male of 35 years old with no health issues. Non smoker, a bit of alcohol, no drugs, no particular family history of diverticulitis. What followed was a steep learning curve: emergency room visits, antibiotics, dietary restrictions, and the anxiety of not knowing when the next flare up might hit.
Like many people facing this diagnosis, I found myself searching for answers online, only to encounter scattered information, medical jargon, and very few resources written by someone who'd actually been through it. I wanted practical guidancewhat to eat during recovery, how to prevent recurrence, and how to rebuild confidence in my gut.
This blog is what I wish I'd found when I was first diagnosed. I share evidence based information alongside my own experience navigating recovery, dietary changes, and long term management. Whether you're dealing with your first flare or trying to prevent another, I hope you'll find something useful here.
